Edifying Manet/Velazquez Essay Example For Students

Illuminating Manet/Velazquez Essay On the off chance that crafted by Edouard Manet appear to you somewhat strange in the very incessant blockbusters of French impressionist craftsmanship, youre right. His reasonable edged, near the-image plane, designed figures and scenes never fit in with the feathery brushwork and pastel shades of individual impressionists Claude Monet, Camille Pissarro and Auguste Renoir. Youll see why when you visit the not-to-be-missed Manet/Velazquez: The French Taste for Spanish Painting display at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. Just because, guests can see the artistic creations of Manet and Diego Velazquez side by side, illuminating juxtapositions recently constrained to propagations. You should rush to see the show. This unrivaled assembling of works from in excess of 70 exhibition halls and private assortments in 13 nations goes through June 29. Velazquezs striking treatment of paint, the manner in which he utilized light on structure and shading, and his utilization of shadow as opposed to line to make space hypnotized the more youthful, French craftsman when he previously got mindful of the Spanish experts work. The two craftsmen united here just because lived two centuries separated in various nations. Velazquezâ (1599-1660) was a key supporter of what has been called Spains Golden Age and was court painter to King Philip IV in Madrid. Manet (1832-83) lived and worked in Paris and consistently has been assembled with the French impressionist development started by Monet in 1874. While imparting Monets distraction with the impacts of light, Manet utilized light in solid, even unforgiving, ways. The displays theory is reasonably straightforward, yet complex in its specialty recorded elaboration. It suggests that during the nineteenth century, the authenticity of Spain displaced that of the Italian Renaissance as the central motivation of French painters, for example, Eugene Delacroix and Gustave Courbet, just as Manet. To fortify its contention, the display includes Spanish specialists, for example, Francisco Goya, Bartolome Esteban Murillo, Jusepe de Ribera and Francisco de Zurbaran to its top to bottom demonstrating of Velazquez. The show exhibits that Americans got the bug, as well. In the wake of watching the Spanish effect on the French craftsmen, painters James McNeill Whistler, Thomas Eakins , William Merritt Chase, Mary Cassatt and John Singer Sargent all grasped Iberian craftsmanship in their turn. Metropolitan Museum executive Philippe de Montebello portrays the shows strategic: Once Velazquez supplanted Raphael on the seat of high workmanship, the universe of painting was made over again. It came in the nick of time to counter the smooth optimism of such neoclassical painters as Jean Auguste Dominique Ingres and Jacques Louis David. In a word, Spanish impact changed both the specialty of the time and the innovation that followed, a point the display altogether also completely delineates. The display hits watchers between the eyes by driving with matched pictures, The Jester Pablo de Valladolid (around 1632-33) by Velazquez and The Tragic Actor (Rouviere as Hamlet) (1865-66) by Manet. Mounted without anyone else on a profound tomato red divider, they pack an uncommonly amazing punch. One might say that the Velazquez, credited by the Museo del Prado in Madrid, and the Manet, from the National Gallery of Art, summarize the show. You could lounge in their brilliance and afterward return home however dont. Theres a whole lot more to see, including an enormous display of early Spanish artistic creations by Ribera, Murillo and Zurbaran; an inside and out perspective on Goya; a room committed to Manets work that incorporates such significant fills in as The Balcony, The Dead Toreador, Mlle V in the Costume of an Espada, Beggar With Oysters and The Execution of Emperor Maximilian; and a stunning room of Sargents, Whistlers and Cassatts. Manet had been particularly taken with Velazquezs Jester when he initially observed it. He liked Velazquezs capricious selection of subjects a lower-class individual as opposed to a Spanish court honorable. Manet respected the Spanish craftsmen self-evident, however removed, compassion toward the man whose main occupation was to engage the lord. He was to paint The Tragic Actor approximately 230 years after the fact. .u8fdebd38c704f3f4d52bb71677af152a , .u8fdebd38c704f3f4d52bb71677af152a .postImageUrl , .u8fdebd38c704f3f4d52bb71677af152a .focused content region { min-stature: 80px; position: relative; } .u8fdebd38c704f3f4d52bb71677af152a , .u8fdebd38c704f3f4d52bb71677af152a:hover , .u8fdebd38c704f3f4d52bb71677af152a:visited , .u8fdebd38c704f3f4d52bb71677af152a:active { border:0!important; } .u8fdebd38c704f3f4d52bb71677af152a .clearfix:after { content: ; show: table; clear: both; } .u8fdebd38c704f3f4d52bb71677af152a { show: square; progress: foundation shading 250ms; webkit-change: foundation shading 250ms; width: 100%; darkness: 1; change: mistiness 250ms; webkit-change: haziness 250ms; foundation shading: #95A5A6; } .u8fdebd38c704f3f4d52bb71677af152a:active , .u8fdebd38c704f3f4d52bb71677af152a:hover { murkiness: 1; change: obscurity 250ms; webkit-progress: obscurity 250ms; foundation shading: #2C3E50; } .u8fdebd38c704f3f4d52bb71677af152a .focused content region { width: 100%; position: relative; } .u8fdebd38c704f3f4d52bb71677af152a .ctaText { outskirt base: 0 strong #fff; shading: #2980B9; text dimension: 16px; textual style weight: striking; edge: 0; cushioning: 0; content beautification: underline; } .u8fdebd38c704f3f4d52bb71677af152a .postTitle { shading: #FFFFFF; text dimension: 16px; textual style weight: 600; edge: 0; cushioning: 0; width: 100%; } .u8fdebd38c704f3f4d52bb71677af152a .ctaButton { foundation shading: #7F8C8D!important; shading: #2980B9; fringe: none; outskirt sweep: 3px; box-shadow: none; text dimension: 14px; text style weight: intense; line-tallness: 26px; moz-fringe range: 3px; content adjust: focus; content embellishment: none; content shadow: none; width: 80px; min-stature: 80px; foundation: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/modules/intelly-related-posts/resources/pictures/straightforward arrow.png)no-rehash; position: total; right: 0; top: 0; } .u8fdebd38c704f3f4d52bb71677af152a:hover .ctaButton { foundation shading: #34495E!important; } .u8 fdebd38c704f3f4d52bb71677af152a .focused content { show: table; tallness: 80px; cushioning left: 18px; top: 0; } .u8fdebd38c704f3f4d52bb71677af152a-content { show: table-cell; edge: 0; cushioning: 0; cushioning right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-adjust: center; width: 100%; } .u8fdebd38c704f3f4d52bb71677af152a:after { content: ; show: square; clear: both; } READ: Las Meninas EssayThe Frenchman was to gain from the Spaniards radical putting of the figure, his restricted scope of hues, the snappy brush strokes that infer as opposed to depict, and the sharp juxtaposition of the level, equivocally spatial foundation. Manet had consistently been keen on Velaquezs visual methodology when he saw his artworks in France, yet it wasnt until after Manets excursion to Spain in 1865 that he came to comprehend the Spaniards virtuoso. He painted The Actor inside a time of his arrival home. Like Velazquez, Manet gave the genuine figure an extraordinary instantaneousness. He underlined the nearness by utilizing a constrained palette and underscoring the hands and face by lighting just them. The display directs the watcher through exhibitions showing what French painters could find in France during Manets time (Spanish Painting in France: Late eighteenth and Early nineteenth Centuries) and on to an exhibition of Goyas, remembering his well known Majas for a Balcony. A room of work by the Spanish painters Zurbaran, De Ribera and Murillo, who affected Manet just as other French specialists, for example, Courbet, follows. This exhibition incorporates De Riberas acclaimed The Beggar (The Club-foot). In the magnificent exhibition gave to Manet, the center is the specialists enormous, even The Balcony of 1868-69, a work that joins the specialty of the Spanish experts with ordinary Parisian life. It obviously identifies with Goyas Balcony in the past room. Manet had quickly observed a family in the midst of a get-away, and that memory may have enlivened this piece. He put craftsman and future sister-in-law Berthe Morisot, wearing the come-here look of Spanish majas, at the left (it is said he became hopelessly enamored with Morisot when he initially met her in Paris, however he previously was hitched; she later wedded his sibling). Two additional companions, a female musician and a craftsman, went about as models for the two different figures. He put a kid with an ewer, a theme from Spain, out of sight. One of Manets most loved works of art, he kept it in his studios until his demise. The craftsman painted Mlle V in the Costume of an Espada halfway for the sake of entertainment. The rich, interesting redhead with white porcelain skin was one of his preferred models. He dressed her in the ensemble of a male toreador, however she watches out at us as opposed to the bull. Behind, a picador punches the creature with a weapon in what was the first round of a bullfight. Manet lifted the scene in the back from one of Goyas etchings of bullfights. The historical center additionally incorporates a self-picture, Self-Portrait With Palette (1878-79), in the show. It is one of his uncommon pictures of himself and obviously a tribute to the self-portrait Velazquez placed in his extraordinary work, Las Meninas. The exhibition show peaks with Manets massive The Execution of Emperor Maximilian. Napoleon III had put Maximilian on Mexicos seat in what had been known as the French rulers appalling Mexican experience. Manet was so rankled when he heard the news in 1867 that he chose to make an enormous, history painting from the occasion. Manet had found in the Prado Goyas rendering of the chivalrous Spanish uprising in Madrid on May 2, 1808, and put together his work with respect to it. Manet firmly assembled his killers to one side. He pulls guests eyes to the certain picture of the falling sovereign at left through the rehashed, vertical lines of the smoking rifles. The canvases size and striking, emotional structure make it one of Manets most prominent works. It doesnt take this 130-work show to effectively express the idea that craftsmanship takes care of off other workmanship. The show effectively does this with gliste

Child Abuse and Maltreatment

â€Å"Nearly five kids bite the dust each day in America from misuse and neglect,† as per Every Child Matters Education Fund (as refered to by The National Children's Alliance, 2009). This demonstrates kid misuse is a significant issue in today’s current society. Truth be told, measurements show that there are more than 3 million reports of youngster misuse every year in the United States alone (â€Å"National Child Abuse Statistics,† n. d. ).While the meaning of youngster misuse and disregard changes from state to state, it is characterized by The Federal Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (CAPTA) as, at least: Any ongoing demonstration or inability to follow up on the piece of a parent or guardian which brings about death, genuine physical or passionate mischief, sexual maltreatment or abuse; or a demonstration or inability to act which presents a fast approaching danger of genuine damage. (â€Å"What is Child Abuse and Neglect? † 2008) Most states have additionally perceived four significant kinds of maltreatment in which kids may experience. It is extremely normal for difficult issues to emerge from youngster abuse, and will in general reason long haul injury. With regards to managing kids in court who have been presented to mishandle, unique safety measures and methodology must be considered. These points help to loan some knowledge concerning how genuine the issue of kid misuse really is in today’s society. In the first place, the four significant sorts of youngster abuse are: disregard, physical maltreatment, sexual maltreatment, and enthusiastic abuse.Neglect happens when a parent, gatekeeper, or other guardian neglects to accommodate the fundamental needs of their kid, for example, taking care of them, offering cover, getting them clinical consideration, furnishing the kid with training, or overlooking the child’s passionate requirements. Physical maltreatment happens when somebody, for example, a parent, watchman, or other guardian deliberately makes physical damage a kid in different manners, for example, punching, kicking, gnawing, beating, cutting, shaking, tossing, hitting, or choking.Sexual misuse incorporates various exercises, for example, assault, homosexuality, inbreeding, obscene introduction, abuse through prostitution or the creation of explicit materials, or caressing a child’s privates (â€Å"What is Child Abuse and Neglect? † 2008). While young men and young ladies do confront genuinely equivalent measures of physical maltreatment and disregard, it is multiple times almost certain for a young lady to encounter sexual maltreatment than a kid (Bartol ; Bartol, 2012, p. 379). As indicated by CAPTA, sexual maltreatment is characterized as: the work, use, influence, prompting, temptation, or intimidation of any youngster to take part in, or help some other erson to participate in, any explicitly unequivocal direct or reenactment of such lead to deliver a visu al portrayal of such direct; or the assault and in instances of guardian or between familial connections, legally defined sexual assault, attack, prostitution, or other type of sexual misuse of kids or inbreeding with kids. (â€Å"What is Child Abuse and Neglect? † 2008) Lastly, psychological mistreatment is portrayed as acts or practices which adversely influence a child’s feeling of confidence or self-development.This can be caused from consistent analysis, dismissing the youngster, compromising them, or retaining affection, direction, and enthusiastic help. In any case, it is extremely hard to demonstrate that a kid has been sincerely mishandled without proof of damage or mental injury. (â€Å"What is Child Abuse and Neglect? † 2008). Out of all these various sorts of abuse, disregard is by a long shot the most well-known. As indicated by the U. S. Division of Health and Human Services (2010), â€Å"over 66% (70%) of abuse casualties experience disregard. Ab out 15% are genuinely manhandled, and 9% are explicitly abused.Only 7% allegedly are sincerely mishandled, a figure that is most likely enormously underestimated† (as refered to in Bartol ; Bartol, 2012, p. 378-379). While these four sorts of youngster abuse are the most well-known, there are a few other notable instances of kid maltreatment too. As indicated by Emery and Laumann-Billings (1998), â€Å"an assessed 1,200 to 1,500 small kids are killed every year by a parent or other person,† (as refered to in Bartol ; Bartol, 2012, p. 380). This type of newborn child misuse is known as child murder, or the executing of a baby as long as two years old (Bartol ; Bartol, 2012, p. 80). As per information from the National Child Abuse and Neglect Data System (NCANDS), kids more youthful than 1 year represented 46. 2% of youngster fatalities in 2009 (as refered to in the Child Welfare Information Gateway, 2011). Child murder can be separated further into two terms, neonaticide and filicide, contingent upon to what extent after birth the youngster was slaughtered. For instance, if another conceived child is killed inside 24 hours after his introduction to the world, it would be neonaticide. In the event that the youngster is slaughtered after he arrives at the age of one year, it would be filicide. These two terms exist as a result of the generous contrasts between moms who submit neonaticide and the individuals who submit filicide. Shaken infant condition is another type of kid maltreatment where the parent, watchman, or guardian shakes the child so hard that genuine cerebrum harm happens (Bartol ; Bartol, 2012, p. 383). A few basic manifestations of shaken child condition are seizures, failure to lift head, trouble breathing, trouble talking, visual impairment, laziness/diminished muscle tone, outrageous touchiness, or powerlessness of eyes to center or track development (â€Å"The National Center on Shaken Baby Syndrome,† n. . ). Now and again, p assing may even happen. As indicated by Russell (2010), â€Å"of those youngsters determined to have SBS, about 30% kick the bucket because of their wounds, and just 15% make due with no enduring impacts (as refered to in Bartol ; Bartol, 2012, p. 383). In addition to the fact that children are influenced while the abuse is going on, however the recollections of the maltreatment can have negative ramifications for kids, families, and society that last lifetimes, if not ages. Most importantly, a person’s physical and emotional well-being could be contrarily affected. For example, grown-ups who have been genuinely mishandled or disregarded are bound to be experiencing asthma, joint inflammation, hypertension, bronchitis, and some more. Some psychological impacts of misuse could be a psychological issue, gloom, confinement, dread, a powerlessness to trust, nervousness, etc. Moreover, individuals who have been manhandled in the past have a lot higher odds of carrying out vicious wrongdoings and turning out to be adolescent guilty parties (â€Å"Long-Term Consequences of Child Abuse and Neglect†, n. d. ).As indicated by English, Widom, ; Brandford (2004), â€Å"a National Institute of Justice study demonstrated that manhandled and ignored youngsters were multiple times bound to be captured for criminal conduct as an adolescent, 2. multiple times bound to be captured for savage and criminal conduct as a grown-up, and 3. multiple times bound to be captured for one of numerous types of vicious wrongdoing (adolescent or adult),† (as refered to in â€Å"Long-Term Consequences of Child Abuse and Neglect†, n. d. ). Furthermore, grown-ups who were mishandled by their folks when they were kids are probably going to manhandle their own kids.A part of individuals who confronted misuse are likewise prone to have issues with sedate maltreatment in their future (â€Å"Long-Term Consequences of Child Abuse and Neglect†, n. d. ). Self-destructive considerations and endeavors to end it all are likewise normal among survivors of youngster misuse. In conclusion, kid abuse is over the top expensive for society. These expenses incorporate direct costs which are the expenses related with the prompt needs of the mishandled and disregarded kid, and roundabout costs which are the expenses related with the more extended term and the auxiliary impacts of kid maltreatment. Some instances of direct expenses would be hospitalization, youngster government assistance, law requirement, constant medical issues, and is assessed every year to cost more than 24 million dollars. A few instances of roundabout expenses would be custom curriculum, grown-up culpability, adolescent wrongdoing, psychological well-being, social insurance, and the assessed yearly expense is near or more than 69 million dollars. Together, the aggregate of the immediate and circuitous expenses for individuals who have experienced youngster misuse can associate with 90 mill ion to 100 million dollars yearly (â€Å"Chapter Six: What Are the Consequences of Child Abuse and Neglect? n. p. ). At long last, extraordinary methodology and precautionary measures must be taken when managing manhandled youngsters in the courts. This is the place the criminological clinician may get included. A portion of the issues the criminological therapist might be engaged with is making sense of the most proper technique for taking the child’s declaration, discovering under what conditions would a child’s out-of-court articulation (noise) be permissible, making sense of if the youngster is skillful enough to give a precise declaration in the courtroom, and if misuse or disregard happened, and provided that this is true, who is responsible. The first issue is significant in light of the fact that it is normal for the kid to be under colossal pressure within the sight of the litigant, or the child’s conceivable abuser. The youngster is under much more wei ght in the event that they need to affirm against their own parent or gatekeeper. As indicated by Partlett and Nurcombe (1998), The kid is famously powerless while giving proof against abusers, particularly guardians, when evidence of the charge will bring about detachment. Numerous kids are profoundly powerless and subject to recantation when confronted with the truth of parental partition (as refered to in Bartol ; Bartol, 2012, p. 91-392). So as to comprehend this issue, numerous states have made and passed late legitimate principles which limit the defender’s showdown with the youngster by permitting the child’s declaration to be taken through shut circuit TV, or another room. Another precarious piece of manhandled kids and courts is the youngster assessment. While assessing the kids, the clinicians must be very ca

Impact of Economic Reforms of Financial Sectors on The Economy of Saud

Question: Give the literature Survey: identifying important items of existing literature that define key aspects of the current state of knowledge Generally- importance of economic reformImportance of financial sectorSaudi Stocks Market Insurance sector Brokers and Intermediaries banksReal-estate Investments firms Answer: Introduction The economy of Saudi Arabia is very strong because it is the crude oil producer and exporter in the world. According the past economic performance, it can be said that the financial system of this country has grown rapidly due taking several economic reforms by the government. The financial sector of Saudi Arabia has also large contribution for the growth of the company (Al Rajhi et al. 2012). After reviewing literature, it has found that there few research studies have done on the importance of economic reforms in financial sector particularly in Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia is considered as one of the largest economies in the world (Mahran and Hatim Ameer 2012). On the other side, so many reforms were taken place for the growth of the economy. But few studies were done in this area and those are not show clear understandings about the importance of economic reforms of Saudi Arabia for the growth of economy. So, it is very much important to investigate this area academically. The purp ose of the current study is to identify whether economic reforms are successful for the growth of financial sector as well as economy. Literature Survey According to Abdulrahman and Al-Tuwaijri (2015), Saudi Arabia was facing certain challenges for the growth of the economy few years ago. On the other side, decreasing of oil price also created huge pressure for the development of the economy. So, it was required to reforms the financial sectors of the economy to maintain the growth of the economy as well as economic stability. The several reforms were done in financial sectors by the government such as capital market, insurance sector, brokers and intermediaries banks and real estate. Stock Market According to the opinion of Alghamedi, Ahmed and Misfer (2012), less importance was given on stock market for the economic growth rather other financial sectors. The country is mainly focused on the banking sector. But several research studies also show the evidence that stock market can also play important for the development of the economy through the performance of certain financial functions such as risk diversification, facilitation of liquidity, promotion of corporate control and monitoring and so else. As it is said by Lawson (2011) that stock market can influence a steady growth through changing the quality of different financial functions. It can create impact on the rate of savings, technological progress and economic efficiency. According to the statement of Hvidt (2011), stock market can be considered as significant financial institution though issuance of equity is smaller source of finance. Stock market can be considered significant sources (both FDI and portfolios) of investment fund for emerging markets and economies in transition. Insurance Sector According to Al-Hamidy (2011), insurance sector has also important for economic growth because it contributes to efficient capital accumulation. Though accumulating large of pools fun can be invested other sector for growth of industries as well as economy. As it is sated by Balcilar, Demirer R. and Hammoudeh (2013), the insurance of sectors of Saudi Arabia is growing more than 15% per annum since 2000. But according to a recent conference report, the government wants to set the growth at 25% annual average rate (SU, 2015). Insurance sector has also substantial contribution to the GDP of Saudi Arabia. Neaime (2012) opined that the activities of insurance market can contribute economic growth both as financial intermediary and provider of risk transfer. It also helps in mobilizing the domestic savings. On the other side, insurance can create several effects such as promoting financial stability, facilitating trade, mobilizing savings, encouraging loss mitigation, enabling risk and enabling risk to be managed more efficiently. Brokerage and Intermediaries Banks As it is investigated by Mahran, Hatim Ameer (2012) that financial brokerage and intermediaries play vital role in fostering the economic growth. The roles of brokerage and financial intermediaries in Saudi Arabia are mobilization of investment fund and proper allocation of the collected finance, provision of liquidity insurance by minimizing the risk and allowance of an efficient risk pooling among different investment projects. Certain research studies also shows the evidence that government policy has greater role between financial intermediaries and growth. The basic role of brokerage and intermediaries banks is to concern with savings and investment decision. Real-estate Investment Firms According to the research study of Suter and Keller (2015), real-estate sector has also crucial role for the development of economy in present economy. In case of Saudi Arabia, the growth of real estate sector is faster than the population growth. Real estate sectors provided greater support for the marinating the economic stability in case of economic crisis. As it is said by Presley and Westaway (2013) that construction is considered as one of important sector and create greater impact on the economic development. It helps in making the financial system more efficient through mobilize savings, expand access and reduce informal sources of finance. Narrative Essay Trip to 6 Flags Essay Example

Narrative Essay Trip to 6 Flags Essay Shemp D. Howard Writin clas 9/21/112 Since my friends and I were seniors this year we decided that we needed to do something to celebrate us leaving Catskill. We spent many lunches at Subways trying to decide what we should do. We started out wanting to go to Cape Cod for the weekend. Then it went from Cape Cod to Boston, Massachusetts. Finally it ended up a day at Six Flags, New England. We decided that the best time to do this was on a Monday morning when everyone else is in school. That way their wouldn’t be as many people there and we could get to the lines quicker. We made a list of all the best rides that we wanted to go on. On June 8th I left my house around seven A. M. in the morning to go pick up my friend Jim from his house we went to Tim’s house to pick Tim up. Then we arrived at Brent’s house, we left my car there and took his. Once we got to I-90 we stopped at a rest stop to get some food. After we all ate we headed straight over to Six Flags. On the way there we talked about a lot of random things. Once we got to Six flags we already had our season passes so we headed to the main ride that we wanted to go on, â€Å"The Superman. There was no line there so we headed straight to the first cars. I sat next to Jim. Ben was behind me and next to Tim. The first drop was 220 feet straight down. On the left side I was right next to the river, on other side Jim was facing the park. For about ten seconds we were all weightless. At the bottom of the drop we were going 75 miles per hour. It was the best roller coaster I have ever be en on. We all decided to go on it two more times in a row before we finally decided to go find another ride. After â€Å"The Superman† we decided the next ride we should go to is the â€Å"Mind Eraser. On this roller coaster our feet were hanging beneath us. This ride had the most twist and flips in it that I have ever been on. With one part that goes into a double loop. I was impressed but it wasn’t as good as â€Å"The Superman. † I started to get hungry after that coaster so we decided that we might as well get some food before we went on the next ride. After eating some food, we decided to go over to the â€Å"Batman. † In the middle of the ride it started to sprinkle. I thought they were gonna close down some of the rides after we got off. The ain stopped though very quick so we got to keep going on rides. Even though the rain stopped, me and Ben and Tim didn’t feel like going on any more roller coaster right then since we just got done eatin g. We went walking around for a bit before we found something to do. They had these old bumper cars, we went over to them figuring it wouldn’t make anyone else sick. Since there was no line the guy let us keep going on. After seven times on we decided that it was finally time to get off and go do something else. When we were walking to the next ride on our list we saw there new thrill ride. This ride flung us all over the place. First it goes in a clock wise motion spinning faster and faster. Then it goes in counter clockwise, flipping us upside down. After â€Å"The Catapult† Tom and Brent finally felt like going on some more rides. So we went to their very first roller coaster. This was the worst roller coaster because the whole ride was so jerky and sketchy. At some points it felt like the train actually went off the tracks. I decided that we weren’t going to go on any other older rides. It started to get hot and I still wanted to go on a water ride so we started to head over the â€Å"Blizzard River. † This is a huge raft ride that we actually had to wait in line for about 30 minutes. This was one of the best raft rides that I have been on as long for as I can remember. After the water ride it started to get late and I wanted to do other things that night. So we decided to go on â€Å"The Superman† one final time before heading out . Once again we had to wait in line for 30 minutes before we got to go on. I didn’t think it was as good this time because we were sitting near the middle of the train before we were in either the first car or the second. After this final ride we started to make our way out of the park. Before we go back on the thruway I was hungry again. So we went to a Friendly’s for the final part of our trip. After relaxing for awhile and eating we figured it was finally time to go home. So we go back in the car and headed home. Before we even got to the thruway Jim was asleep in the back seat. I fell asleep right after we got our toll ticket.
